All of our faculty members have received ijazat (traditional licenses) from their teachers in the various Islamic sciences. With their unbroken chains of transmission, students have the opportunity to be linked to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and inherit his teachings directly from his heirs.

There are several specialized institutes available for intensive study of the Islamic sciences, and many available for children to learn the basics. The gap we aim to fill is Islamic education for young adults to enrich their minds and hearts with what is essential to live as Muslims, without the commitment of a full-time program.

While it is certainly desirable and to some extent necessary to preserve and teach advanced levels of the Islamic sciences, there are certain things that are an individual obligation (fard 'ayn) on every single Muslim to learn. This is why, in our Islamic Essentials Program, we focus on areas of knowledge that Islam itself prioritizes.
